Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 31, 2026
This policy explains how LeadRank ("we") handles data in the LeadRank web application and the LeadRank Site Audit browser extension.
Browser extension
On-page audit (free, no account). When you click the extension on a page, it reads that page's content in your browser to compute an on-page SEO score and checklist. This analysis runs entirely on your device. The page content is not sent to us and is not stored.
Deep audit (optional, signed in). If you sign in and run a deep audit, the extension sends only the URL of the page you are auditing to our backend, which fetches and analyzes that page and returns the results. Your sign-in token is stored locally in the browser (via the extension's storage) so you do not have to re-authenticate; it is never exposed to web pages.
The extension requests access to a page only when you click it (the activeTab model). It does not read pages in the background and requests no broad access to your browsing history.
Data we collect
- Account information — email and authentication identifiers, handled by our authentication provider (Clerk) when you create an account or sign in.
- Audit input — the URL (and, for deep audits, the fetched content) of pages you choose to audit.
- Usage analytics — anonymous product analytics to improve the service (via PostHog).
How we use data
We use the data above solely to provide the audit features you request, operate and secure your account, and improve the product. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use or transfer it for purposes unrelated to the audit features, or to determine creditworthiness or for lending.
Service providers
To run deep audits we share the necessary data with these processors:
- Clerk — authentication.
- DataForSEO — search-ranking (SERP) data for the audited keyword.
- OpenPageRank — domain authority for the audited domain.
- Anthropic (Claude) — AI-generated audit recommendations.
- PostHog — product analytics.
- Railway — application hosting.
Data retention & your rights
Audit records are retained while your account is active. You may request access to, or deletion of, your data by contacting us. Deleting your account removes your associated audit data.
